Prophet River First Nation is located 100km south of Fort Nelson, British Columbia, on the world-famous Alaska Highway at Mile 233. The PRFN community (reserve) is 924 acres in size. The traditional territory of the Prophet River First Nation is situated mainly in the boreal forest region of northeastern British Columbia.

The Economic Development Coordinator, under the direction of the Economic Development Manager, will primarily be responsible to develop and maintain constructive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including executives, corporate staff, management, employees, and business and community partners. This position will assemble the necessary resources to solve a broad range of program and service delivery problems in the provision of public works and utility services. This role will also answer external and internal phone calls and transfer calls to the appropriate departments. The Economic Development Coordinator must possess three years of related experience and experience using databases to research and provide accurate and relevant information.

Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain constructive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including executive, corporate staff, management, employees, and business and community partners
  • Assemble necessary resources to solve a broad range of program and service delivery problems in the provision of public works and utilities services
  • Answer external and internal phone calls and transfer calls to the appropriate departments
  • Assist in the coordination of community development and educational services
  • Respond to non-emergency calls as necessary
  • Document daily activities and submit detailed reports
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanour, and attitude at all times
  • Assist in planning, organizing, coordinating, and implementing various operational and administrative programs
